Expand your weaving skills.

 

  • Explore various weaves that are suitable for weaving fabric.

  • Go home with a folder of samples of various weaves that are suitable for weaving fabric, woven off each loom, with drafts and information on each.

  • Focus on drape, stability, end use and finishing.

Required weaving experience: You must be able to read a weaving draft, warp up your loom, and weave a sample independently.

This is a two day workshop - 9am - 4pm Saturday and Sunday.  

 

Before the workshop:

  • Thread up your loom with the assigned draft.

  • Weave a 10-12cm sample and cut it off the loom.

  • Tie your warp back on so it's ready to be woven at the workshop.

 

Bring:

  • This is a round robin workshop - During the workshop you will have a chance to weave samples on everyone else's draft. Bring your loom threaded up and ready to weave plus weft threads for everyone else to use on your warp.

  • Bring a small amount of warp thread in case of breakages.
  • Your threading hook, weights, scissors, note taking equipment 

  • A folder for your notes and samples

  • Your lunch (Coffee, tea, refrigerator and microwave available)
